MAT Mondial joins forces with BAB to offer groundbreaking new training course

MAT Mondial Limited (MML) specialists in mine action and training, have joined with the British Assessment Bureau (BAB) to create an innovative new training course for mine action industry personnel.
The ‘Mine Action Quality Management System & ISO QMS & EMS Internal Auditor Course’ will instruct students in the required knowledge, skills and attitude to understand Quality (QMS) and Environmental (EMS) Management Systems. Those interested can now pre-register on the MAT Mondial website.

The eight day course, which will be run at MML’s dedicated EOD & De-mining School in Peja, Kosovo, will also offer students the opportunity to gain ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management & 14001:2004 Environmental Management Internal Auditor Certificates.

Pax Mondial has a new home and training center at the Pengethly Manor House

Pax Mondial Group is pleased to announce the completion and acquisition of Pengenthly Manor House in Herefordshire, UK (link: www.pengethleymanor.co.uk). The 15 acre site will now provide a flagship training center and HQ for our Medical Subsidiary Ex Med and HQ for European Operations. Pax Mondial will invest in redevelopment of the hotel and site in coming months to establish a world class facility for both operations and guests.

MAT Mondial achieves ISO 14001

Pax Mondial is proud to announce that its mine action and training subsidiary, MAT Mondial, has achieved the international recognized ISO 14001 standard. This environmental standard certifies that MAT Mondial has an environmental policy and an action plan to manage its environmental impact; the certification requires continual improvement and annual assessment. This standard, conferred by the British Assessment Bureau, also requires an organization to have streamlined processes and consistent quality of service. Overall, achieving ISO 14001 is associated with reduced costs, reliable quality, and enhanced status.

Pax holds successful conference in Brussels on capacity building, partnerships.

Pax Mondial held a successful week-long series of meetings, round-table events, and presentations in Brussels from March 25-31, during which Pax CEO Paul Wood and other senior executive officers presented Pax Mondial’s ideas on capacity building and strengthening partnerships between Africa, the US, and the EU, in the areas of crisis response, stabilization, and development in post-conflict areas.

High-level participants and guests included keynote speaker Prof. Jean-Pierre Ezin (Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology for the African Union) and Mr. Solomon Tessema (Deputy Head of the Ethiopian Mission to Brussels), among other institutional delegates from the EU and African Union countries.

Construction in South Sudan and risk management in Ethiopia

Pax Mondial is happy to announce that we have completed the construction of the new Ministry of Energy and Mining building in South Sudan, a project which was funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy.

In Ethiopia, we are pleased to announce that Pax Mondial was awarded a Risk Management contract with BHP Billiton in support of their operation to extract potash in the Danakil Depression.

MAT Mondial to offer ERW training online

MAT Mondial will be launching its online learning initiative shortly, allowing those working overseas to study how to mitigate the threat posed by the Explosive Remnants of War (ERW). This essential learning experience takes students through ERW Bronze and Silver standards in a modular learning format. The ‘Gold’ Assessors standard is attained on a residential course after Bronze and Silver are attained online.

MAT Mondial provided humanitarian assistance

In February, MAT Mondial’s training team provided humanitarian emergency assistance in Kosovo during extreme weather conditions, rescuing a 9 year old boy with a life threatening illness and transporting him to hospital.
